KACWASCO Hosts Waswak to Enhance Water Service Delivery.

Kakamega County Water and Sanitation Company (KACWASCO) today hosted a consultative meeting with the Water Sector Workers Association of Kenya (WASWAK) and international partners, Danny Roger Skidmore and Ian McIlwham, under the Operators Without Borders initiative. The meeting, organized through WASWAK President Sir Charles Chitechi, focused on strengthening technical cooperation aimed at improving water service delivery across the Company.

The discussions centered on quality assurance,wastewater management,water distribution systems, last-mile connectivity, and conducting a comprehensive analysis of KACWASCO’s water supply system from raw water abstraction to distribution. The engagement will assess the Mumias and Tindinyo water systems while enhancing the capacity of KACWASCO operators through technical knowledge exchange during the two-week engagement.

Speaking during the meeting, The Managing Director CPA Charles Tung’a appreciated WASWAK and the partners for choosing to work with KACWASCO. He welcomed the collaboration, noting that the initiative presents a valuable opportunity for the Company to strengthen its operations. The Managing Director further called upon the KACWASCO team to fully support the exercise to ensure its success and maximize the expected benefits.

The Technical Manager Eng. Jesse Ambundo described the engagement as an important technical cooperation that will help provide practical solutions to water quality challenges. He appreciated the Managing Director for his continued support and expressed optimism that the partnership with WASWAK would deliver meaningful improvements in KACWASCO’s technical operations.

In his remarks WASWAK President,Sir Charles Chitechi emphasized that the collaboration is intended to build the capacity of water sector operators through knowledge sharing and technical support. He encouraged close cooperation throughout the two-week engagement to achieve sustainable solutions that will enhance water service delivery.
