WASWAK Celebrates Graduation Ceremony

The latest new Blue Community, the Water Sector Workers Association of Kenya (WASWAK), celebrates its certificate as a Blue Community on its new built website (still under construction). And it reports on a recent graduation ceremony:

Empowering Water Operators for Excellence.

In a significant advancement for Kenya’s water sector, the Water Sector Workers Association of Kenya (WASWAK) recently celebrated the professional development of 40 water operators from various member utilities across the country.

The graduation ceremony, held in Nairobi, marked the successful completion of a comprehensive technical training program conducted in partnership with Water Professionals International (WPI) and with valuable support from WASPA. The curriculum focused on critical operational competencies that directly enhance service delivery quality at water utilities.

“This initiative aligns perfectly with our sector-wide goals of strengthening human resource capacity,” noted a WASWAK representative. “When operators possess advanced skills, our utilities become more efficient and sustainable.”

Participants returned to their respective Water Service Providers equipped with practical knowledge in areas such as water quality management, distribution system optimization, and operational troubleshooting—skills that translate to immediate improvements in community water services.

The success of this program exemplifies WASWAK’s commitment to its motto, “We Mobilize, Unite and Empower,” by fostering collaboration and professional growth throughout Kenya’s water sector. Through continued partnership with WASPA and other industry stakeholders, WASWAK remains dedicated to building a skilled workforce to meet our nation’s evolving water challenges.
